In an effort to get the engine lower and away from the bulkhead, I got started today making my own. Took me all day but pleased enough, and I know it puts the engine just where I need it.[frame][/frame]

Hi all thanks for the encouraging comments. As you can see from the photos the alternator is currently mounted on the oil filter housing on the right. It's somewhat cramped over there with the carb flutes and dizzy and really could do with mounting it on the left as seems to be the more common place...

Jefftav, have a look at the photo in Restoration project. Look for Dean's 1971 Fiat Twin Cam Project. There's a shot of the Regatta horizontal filter mount. I took the photo after reading you post.
