I have just bought a new set of door seals for my 1970 4 door and have a question, are the ends clamped under the sill cover plates? the originals stick down past them slightly and may have been tucked under a bit.

The tyres on my 1970 4 door are 155/14 but they seem too wide for the rims and bulge over each side. The steering also seems a bit heavier than what i think it should be, is it because they are a cheap make ( the rears are remoulds) as it seems a popular size avaialble from suppliers. I have just drained the oil in my gearbox and what came out is thick and black and smells like EP90, my manual says the oil should be 20/50, is this still valid or has it changed to the EP over the years.Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for confirming its a usual mod, the floor is good where they sit. the local MOT place I use is pretty good and they have an interest in classic cars so should be ok then
