I intend to replace my dynamo ( noisy bearings ) but can't decide whether to go for a re-conditioned exchange
or a 'Lucas type' outright buy with no exchange, which will probably have been made in a far away place.
I would be pleased to hear of other folks experiences.

Even if I took the floor panel out I don't think it would be get at able without dropping the G.Box
and I don't want to risk dropping the bung inside.

So you have to tax the vehicle but don't get a tax disc and don't hand over any payment.

Re: Interior light question
I think it is working correctly, the sliding switch on the interior light on my 69
over rides the courtesy light (door) switches, ( light on all the time ),
but doesn't have a switching off option.

Re: Petrol Gauge
Nice one ! glad you got it sorted. I love a Minor electrical mystery . I have done some reading on MG sites about voltage stabilisers, very interesting, apparently they switch several times per second making test meter readings virtually impossible. It is possible to strip out the old parts from the...

It's just possible that the needle has 'jammed' on full, I would see what it does with the battery disconnected first.
The gauge would show full if the wire from gauge to sender is touching earth but only with ignition on.

Re: Parking at Shows
Hi Pete, it's dead easy as the courtesy light and the horn are both switched in the earth circuit,
without giving too much away all you need is a single pole switch ( 2 terminals), run one wire
to either door switch and the other to the earth side of the horn. Job done. CW .

'Small round sticker' at back of head may be a temperature sensor that could give evidence
of overheating and invalidate a warranty claim.

instead.

Bit of a pain only being able to look at one product at a time, lot of faffing required.
Good quality stuff though, hope you find what you are looking for.

I can see the advantage of having a high level brake light , but why do people sit in traffic with their foot on the brake pedal ?
The dazzle can be horendous on a wet night ( probably not from a minor though). Folk dont seem to use the handbrake
other than for parking these days, mores the pity.
