Thanks chaps, on closer inspection there is a "1" hiding near the rivet but I still have a "K" so it's now 10MA-UK-H359619.

Also, on the V5C, the model (D.3.) is quoted as 1100. What have you all got for a moggy. May as well get it sorted all together.

My V5C is quoting the wrong engine number.

The number on the engine plate looks like OMA-UK-H359619. (It's a 1098) I have been previously told on the forum that it is probably a recon unit.

Can anyone tell me if this is the right format before I send the V5C back in.

Thanks for the input. Just to close this off, I bit the bullet and bought the necessary spares (it's just the P&P that crucifies you). As I have 2x the old filter, this was the cheapest way forward.

I am re-assembling oil filter assembly and although the spring is inside the bowl, there is no large washer on the shaft to put pressure on the filter which means the filter has just been idling away at the bottom of the filter can. It's a standard SU. I think the picture is a bit dim at No:4. It's about the same as the others on closer inspection.

The engine number on the V5C is 12VEH38470 but the number I quoted on the previous post is on the plate on the LHS of block (driver's side)

Hi, there, The engine No: is OMA-UK-H359619 & The number on the head casting is 26453-MOW0(0)(or G)-12G202. The pressure dimple on the head gasket that I have circled is blown through and I have emulsion soup in the rocker box.

Definitely had water on 2 & 3, pressure build-up on overflow bottle, and the AA guy had that magic light to illuminate the bores. On the few occasions I have called these guys out, as long as they are AA and not appointed garages, they have gone the extra mile so they get my vote.

Capillary may be better but the best price I can find is £92 new. Anyone know a cheaper source for new. I assume a mini scrapper might have these. Why is electrical one considered inferior?
