MIXING RUST PROOFERS

Is it ok to mix rust proofing agents?
I think some of my van has been done with waxoyl internally. I've got some Dinitrol to retreat everything and its suddenly occurred to me the soft waxes may not be compatible. Has anybody done this before?

I have an electronic windscreen aerial fitted to my van. It cost £6.50 including p&p in july buy it now on ebay. It works a treat. I have just transferred it to my new heated windscreen - I wondered with the heating element in the glass that the signal might be screened ( 'scuse the pun), but it...

New windscreen

I intend to put a new windscreen (heated variety) in my van as the old one is very scratched and chipped to the point where I don't like going out when its dark and raining at the same time. When it was rebuilt (within the last 10 years) I'm pretty sure it had a new rubber seal fitted which is in go...

Its quite simple really. Find a suitable spot for your gauge. If you want it to light up connect it into your instrument lighting circuit. Take out the oil pressure warning light switch in the block just above the starter motor. If you want to keep the warning light replace it with a tee piece. Conn...

Ive just fitted an uprated heater into my van today. You could dry your hair over the screen vents now - the difference is fantastic. I bought a mk2 mini heater on ebay and had it shipped down to a morris centre in Birmingham where it was refurbished with i think a faster motor and more efficient ma...

I meant to say check connections on the lighting circuit. I would have thought the regulator theory would, if it is the cause, produce a less random noise which is not what i think you implied. it will certainly be cheaper and easier just to check your lighting connectors first. let us know how you ...

I would think it is because of poor connections due to corrosion causing very tiny arcs every now and then and a bit of RF as product.
Try cleaning up as many bullets and spades as you can find and make sure the earthing is really good.
The problem might well be worse when the atmosphere is damp.

Never seen any for a minor but lower wing repair panels for MGBs are a standard part and allow you to chop in and make good the wing after doing sill replacements. The lower part of a minor wing is a much more simple shape to fabricate and assuming you can weld the thin stuff it shouldn't be a probl...

I would have thought a traveller would have been called a sedan in other countries - ie. "a two or four door automobile with framing around the windows" in the U.S.
Does it have wood bits?

On the basis that at £6.50 including postage would not be too much money to waste if it didn't work I bought a stick on dipole and integral amplifier (so it needs a power supply) on ebay to put in my van and I am really impressed - its tucked up behind the mirror out of the way - the wiring is threa...

Advertising standards

 It occurred to me at breakfast time this morning that a company can get away with anything if the concept is crazy enough! Are shreddies really knitted by Nannas? If the adverts and information on the box are to be believed then they clearly are!!! However I do seem to remember a tv advert fo...

Well the answer is that they are not interchangeable! The pivot point on the nylon float is not in the correct position relative to the lid and the stop at the back prevents the float from falling far enough to open the valve. SU were very helpful - thanks for the link It seems that when the nylon f...

Had a look at the exploded diagrams of various carbs
mine is an HS2 and the brass float is certainley not like the earlier type with a hole up the middle for the bolt so i'm hoping for a swap tomorrow! Watch this space!

I always thought the second best engine noise after a deltic was from a warship (not a boat) pulling away.
