oh how I wish there were better than originals fitting panels :D Autocraft in the Brum area make em for old VW vans - they have amassed and borrowed a whole load of NOS repair panels, or taken wrecked vans apart to get to panels no longer available, picked a certain panel out of a scrapper, and mad...

also as far as suppliers go ESM and BULLMOTIF are the best around I referred to 2nd hand parts being better as these are probably Morris originals and new pattern parts tend to be cheaper quality and harder to fit I have already used Bullmotif and found them to be a good supplier for other stuff. I...

Will do - I was just short of time yesterday. I work away during the week and wanted to get all my parts and answers lined up before the next fix session!

Just wondered of there was an obvious or freuwent problem that Minor owners suffer with matrixes after lay up.

Used Panels - Availability and Price

New to The Minor Scene, and enjoying it so far. Breathing life into someone elses family car from the 70s which they all want to get back on the road to enjoy again. Have had a look through the classifieds and not hadmuch joy. What is the availability of late 2 door used doors and boot lids? What so...

Heater Leak

New to Minors - got the car running yesterday to find that there is a drip/leak somewhere in the heater system inside the car - it's OK from bulkhead forward. Valve opens and closes OK now and hot water is returning to block. There was no time to see where the leaks were - is there a frequent proble...

Will borrow it for a week. Thanks for the advice on panels and pattern parts - all too awa...

Thanks for that advice. Not into "plating" things like sills. I'd rather do the complete item if that's possible - bit like a heater channel on a beetle - they're structual and will only go again elsewhere - rather whip the hole thing out and replace with complete unit (like on a beetle). ...

"Just How Bad Is This" or "How Easy Is This T

Got some queries regarding what look to be serious repairs to a Minor that has to be put back on the road (long story) – so “scrap it and get a more solid one” is out of the question. Not new to old cars and big restos, but totally new to a Minor. Am unsighted on how serious a job the metal fettling...

How Much Antifreeze?

What volume of antifreeze do I require for a complete refill of the cooling system?

Have read all the back posts about flushing and cleaning out - happy with that, but what volume of antifreeze do I need?

Thanks

I'm off on a rally around Ireland on Saturday. Have fun. I am currently on my second '57 beetle, and am on my first '57 23 window VW Microbus. Both runners and drivers - but I am much happier now that I have disk brakes and "warm" engines capable of propelling me around, and stopping at t...

You speak a language, and use methods I understand :D It's obviously a national trait. All for upgrades - once this thing runs and the bodywork is on the way to getting sorted, it's brakes and handling, little more performance - ie fairly original looking, but capable of being used for more than jus...

Thanks - it is a good diagram - but i'm sad and satisfied with Haynes too! Will let you know after the weekend's fettling if I get the lights working - doubt it tho - test l...

What has gone wrong - is the complete control box goosed? Easy/cheap to get hold of? Battery is new, driver's side fuze and wires off it work ...
