Thanks Guys, but only just enough money to keep the thing on the road, so major mods wil have to wait, I've got a very late (98) unleaded mini head , but was still wondering if there's anyway to eliminate the pinking on hills, just by changing the distributor, and if so where would I get one..... or...

I fitted a NEW thermostat 2 years ago and it was faulty, didn't look like the flying Scotsman, but wouldn't stop running even when I took the key out......who said you can't put a diesel in a minor! Had the same with flasher units too, are they all made so badly? had to solder the last one up myself...
