Re: Chrome & Trim?
The chrome was a separate brass insert was it not rather than the later one piece pressing? I have a two piece brass insert grill off an Australian spec KD series 2 lying in the shed as my spare.

Re: Pedal pivot woes.
Not familiar with working in that area, but I guess it's one of those take the gearbox panel off and take a look while pressing the clutch. It's a long shot but it might just need some lubrication. Good luck. Can't really comment on if it's right that it does move, other than I guess it shouldn't an...

Just had some "Meantime London Pale Ale". Very nice. Shame they only come in 330ml bottles though.

Re: No power sometime, but ticks over just fine
I had this problem with old fuel. old fuel glazes the plugs up, if you clean the plugs all is fine for about five minutes, then the power goes and it starts to run like a bag of nails. Clean the plugs again and all is fine.

Since 1971 quite a lot. Do you want me to make a list?
On a serious note, I'm glad I stumbled on this as I probably would have let it run down a drain.

No they didn't - I think that your post has a typo, given the question mark at the end of the statement. The Short Bonnet was only on Side-valve engined cars and the Traveller (Utility Vehicle) wasn't introduced until the merger with Austin. The photo of the blue "transitional" traveller ...

1098 in the Mini was indeed painted black, so quite possibly was in the late travellers.

The note on the on the rally card on convertible below, sums it up for me. "Bought for spares but fell in love with her".

I looked at mine earlier and to be honest, couldn't make out what colour it was as it was so worn.

Re: Sloppy brake & clutch pedal shaft
I didn't need to do anything with my pedals, but my only suggestion would be to take them out. The brake pedal is a pig to connect and disconnect from the master cylinder from memory. To be honest you have nothing to lose by trying to nip up the nut on the chassis leg. But I 'm thinking if you take ...

I've taken to drinking Skinners. Got a Lushingtons's and Betty Snogs in the fridge.
I'd recommend one of these boxes if you like mixing and matching..

Lovely white traveller in St Mawes, Cornwall Tuesday 23rd Apr. I was on holiday down there and took a nice piccy, if it belonged to anyone on here.
