sorry if this is the wrong forum but can you explain what you mean by cellulose paint. I am familiar with Enamel Acrylic and Two pack but dont know cellulose thanks a bunch :) :

Dont these thermo stat covers corrode from the inside to the outside giving the impression that the cover is ok ,For what it would cost and a simple job Id go there first and fit a new gasket at the same time. 2 nut 1 hose clamp clean face replace done

re clothes pegs I meant that you would write 1 on 1 peg 2 on 2 peg 3 on 3peg etc depending on how many cylinders you are working on. and then attatch each peg to the relevant dist lead easier than you blokes seem to think

you didnt say which engine,my sidevalve had a loose connection with the bakelite knurled nut on the side of distributer replaced with little brass nut problem gone

a tip I find useful when removing plug leads on any thing I attatch cklothes pegs to leads numbered 1-4 or 6 or however many then you cant get them out of order simple eh

why was the engine changed? you could also reverse flush radiator to take that out of equasion,is there a heater ,try flushing this also ceeyas

gday I know where this guys coming from my morrie was sold as 1953 but after dogged determination i found out that its 1950 model butthat makes it an even better buy and Im sure he will put his fears behimd him and enjoy his car for what it is a morrie convertible and special to him alone 'amen
