Re: Help
Hi BMC, I was thinking of trying to find the time to do the necessary welding this summer in order to be able to mount the leaf springs and axle. At the front, I'm struggling to remember exactly what state it was in the last time I was working on it but I think at the moment the front suspension is ...

Re: Help
Thanks Mike, I appreciate that. I did get a fair bit of work done on the car once it was stripped and went up in the air. The main idea at the start was just to give the shell some rigidity in order to try to maintain the geometry of the car as far as possible. I'll include a couple of pictures, tho...

Help
Hi everyone, This is a slightly strange message, but as the title suggests I really need some help and I wondered if anyone on here would be able to lend a hand or know someone who might. I am based in Edinburgh. I have a 1969 2 door saloon which is in a sorry state. It has been in the family since ...

1969 2 Door
Well I've been unsure whether I should start a thread on this car for a while because I know there will be very long gaps between updates. Seems like a good idea though, it will help me to keep a log of things too. There is a long story behind this car. It's now in pretty bad condition and I have li...

Re: Loss of power above 30mph
Thanks everyone, will investigate for potential dizzy and fuel supply problems. The only reason I thought it could be the head gasket is that I once had a similar break down. I've had four head gaskets going in different cars and three of them are as described here. However, one in my mini went once...

Loss of power above 30mph
Hi, My sisters Minor has recently developed a problem which I think sounds like it could be the beginning of the end for her current head gasket but as I can't get to her car just now I wondered what others would make of this description: Her car apparently lost power suddenly while driving at a ste...

Thanks for that, the 8 lives under wraps on my parents drive-way so next time I'm over for a visit I'll give it another look - good point about the starter, that has been playing up for a while too (got the car last May and since then it has been a process of fixing other peoples 'fixes'!). Come to ...

Thanks for getting back so quick! I checked it at the battery.... but, I know that doesn't really make sense (at least not to me) the batteries do charge up from my charger so I'm really at a loss as to how the output can be reaching them, yet they are loosing more than they are getting. From the lo...

Hello, I'm sorry to hijack this thread! I have been having a similar problem with charging my Morris Eight as well, except I don't think it is a problem with the dynamo itself. I thought initially that it would be the brushes but I checked the output with a voltmeter and the output is reading betwee...

That brought me to tears - if you get the chance please pass my deepest sympathies to the owner :( Nothing nearly as bad has happened to me but I have had my Minor and Mini attacked a few times (the Minor was stolen once but luckily the fuel pump packed up!). Being of the same age as the current cro...
