Smiths heater fan rattle

Hi, My Smiths (old round type) heaters fan rattles when idling (when I speed up the sound goes away) and has done for some time. I just wondered if anyone knows of a fix for this? Are they adjustable or does it simply need tightening up (and how do I do this)? I can take the casing off but can't se...

Re: Cost of a new Moggie if made today?

Mike has hit the nail on the head: the EU simply wouldn't allow anything like the Minor to get near a road. Regulations for type approval are so strict, on so many counts, that modern car design is very highly constrained. How would you meet all the crashworthiness requirements? Where would you abs...

Re: Inflated classic prices

Quite a response to my comments I see, I have read through all your arguments but sorry, I love my Minor (in fact I like all classic cars) and I hope to acquire another someday to keep her company but there is no way on Gods green earth that you will get me to part with the kind of money your sugge...

Re: Inflated classic prices

Sorry, but I still think these prices are OTT. If you enjoy your hobby then you are prepared to spend money on it, agreed. But I don't think this should be passed onto others, as it is your personal choice. Fortunately I enjoy the challenge of doing a car up and don't mind getting my hands dirty. B...

Inflated classic prices

Hi, Like many of us, I'm sure, I like to browse the classic car ads in case something interesting comes up within my price bracket. I also like to keep one eye on the classic price guides in the likes of 'Practical Classics'. Now I know that prices tend to head upwards for the more popular makes of...

Non functioning horn

Hi, I have a recurring problem, which I think might be quite common, in that the copper contact for the horn push (on the indicator stalk base) wears down with the turning of the steering column to the point where the horn no longer works. I have had this problem twice now, the last time I bought a...

Re: Radiator cap poundage?

Hi, Many thanks for your help, I wanted some info as I have spotted a Stainless Steel cap on eBay, which would enhance my engine bay (my existing cap being old and grubby) but as I have upgraded the engine I wasn't sure of the right poundage. The only mark on my existing cap is a 10, so I shall er o...

Radiator cap poundage?

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone knows what the correct poundage would be for a Morris Minor radiator cap on a car fitted with a 1275cc engine.
Many thanks.
Mike.

Re: National Rally - Photos

Hope you like the small selection I've added. I've tried to to keep it varied as we seem to have plenty of shots of the more pristine / modified cars. One thing I've learnt this year wandering round is that everyone is proud of their car (and why not) no matter what it's condition. My car is not con...
