Thanks for the interesting responses. My car has some sort of letters/numbers stamped on the block in the position mentioned but nothing like in the photo above - far smaller in size and illegible, possibly due to several layers of engine paint over the years. My Series 2 minor has had its original 803 cc engine replaced by a later engine from a Minor 1000, however I don't know if it's a 948 or 1098. Series 2 grille and wheels colour?
I own a Series 2 Minor built in Dec 54, registered Jan 55, it has the grille with the horizontal bars. Currently the grille and wheels are painted cream, and the body colour is smoke blue. Looking at photos of other Series 2 cars it seems that it is common for the grille and wheels to be in the body...

Apologies if this question has been asked before - does anyone know how to obtain the original registration mark for a Morris. My 1954 Series 2 was originally registered WWL 654 but was off the road for many years in the 70's and when re-licensed in 1986 the DVLO gave it a new mark of DSU 762. I wou...
