Why not - sounds like a nice lad - and that tempting 'steak' dinner ! Yummm. To test the wiper motor - put it on the car and connect up the wires as per the manual. The fella had only a few teeth and had a mouthful of chewing tobacco.....which makes them spit every so often as it makes their mouth ...

So - does that wiper motor work ok ? Chances are it will - so don't rush into 'reconditioning' it if you don't need to! You should have had the petrol pump too (should have been beside the wiper motor) - or was it gone already ? I am not sure how to test the motor or how to install it for that matt...

I got a wiper motor and an offer of marriage!
This is Ana a Brit in Atlanta with a red Morris Traveller. As you may recall my wiper motor disappeared from my Traveller over the last 10 years and I reckon the MG mechanic was responsible. I think he was going to remove it to rebuild it then forgot and now can't remember a thing about it! Stange t...

Roof guttering
I have a Traveller here in Atlanta and noticed that the area at the edge of the roof over the cab...the 'gutter area' I suppose you would call it....has some cracking paint. I wonder if anyone knows what to use in that area to stop it getting worse and to prevent rust. I seem to remember something a...

The master cylinder sounds like a real bodge - and they do show the wiper motor as available and not at all expensive. However - I agree - steer well clear after that stupidly expensive brakes experience! By 'They' do you mean Atlanta Imports place? Is the MG wiper motor interchangeble with the Mor...

I assume you are aware of this Company - they list Minor parts and look to be at the correct price too ! https://atlantaimported.com/categories.asp?cat=54322 They have the wiper motor (not expensive!) - don't see the handbrake cable but you can always ask. Edit - Look under 'Spridget 948 - 1098' fo...

Thanks guys for all your help. I do think that I was screwed on the price for the brakes. I know that he used an MG master cylinder on the traveller and the push rod was too short so he welded a bit on. Thankfully the brake cylinders on the wheels are the same. I have found somewhere else in Atlanta...

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I got the bill for the brakes. He showed me the brake shoes and all the cylinders. Apparently the cost was in labour. Well, it has served to spark my growing interest in mechanics! :) There are very few places here to repair Morris's but I have a le...

New Lass 'Traveling' in Atlanta
Hello everyone, My name is Ana and I am a lass originally from Northampton but living in Atlanta USA. I have a 1959 Red Morris Traveler 1000. I have had it for the last 13 years and had it renovated after an idiot pulled out in front of me and side swiped it nose to tail. That was 12 years ago. I ha...

Is my pump a pusher or a puller. How would I find that out? Yes...$2300 for the brakes floored me but they did put a new master cylinder in and all the cylinders on the wheels. They also had to re-shoe some of the pads. I don't want to go back to the garage that fixed the brakes because the fella th...

Hey there, I am new on the board. I am English living in Atlanta U.S. and own a red Morris 1000 Traveler. On Sunday the car wouldn't start. The pump wasn't doing the usual clicking. So I bought a new one an : 'SU' serial number AUF 214. It was located under the rear of the car just in front of the p...
