Re: Oiling the Underside
For what it is worth my 1969 Traveller's underside has been covered in old engine oil since new (re-applied as necessary). It is as good as the day it was made. Never needed any welding repairs. A bit messy when working under the car but well worth the effort

Yes it is a bit messy when you have to work underneath but is very effective at keeping the dreaded rot at bay

In the manual it reads '' each graduation at the point shown by the upper arrow represents an approximate timing movement of 5 degrees. This is equal to 55 clicks on the adjusting nut''

Re: Trouble bleeding brakes
May sound silly question but have you adjusted the brakes fully then turned back one click only, assuming they are drums all round. It could be the servo. You can quite easily make up temporary pipework to bypass the servo, if this gives you a hard pedal then the servo is at fault. I would agree wit...

Cleaning and refitting the exhaust to manifold joint worked for me
Who would believe it, so simple when you know how
How many owners have changed their gearboxes unnecessarily when this simple measure would have done the trick

Re: growling noise
Both my 1969 Traveller and before that 1969 Convertible have what sounds like a similar noise. Also a friends 66 Saloon has the same I have been asking fellow Minor Owners for years about this, and it always has been put down to the gearbox, but my suspicions are that it may we something such as the...

11 inches at the top
10.5 inches at the bottom
Now you can start making your repair panels, I'm sure more accurate measurements will follow
