Bonnet Opening on road..

Well this is great, my own Moggy broke down (headgasket/ignition etc problems) on Friday on the way to Thetford for the weekend so I'm missing her and today on the way from Bedford doing 65, the bonnet on the project moggy blew open. Admittedly I didn't close it properly... Fortunately yards away fr...

Re: urgent breakdown help...

Damn. Ya got me. How do I detect lack of compression without taking the plugs out, I haven't got any tools. We're going to get the breakdown with my insurance to take us home. Would they arrange recovery for tomorrow afternoon if I call now.?

Re: Indicator stem light permanently on??

This is strange. Mine always used to work until a few months ago on one drive, the light stayed on. It still does now so I've taken the bulb out (I drive in the dark alot!). The indicators work fine so it doesn't bother me. Be interesting to know what you've found..

Replacement Spark Plug Leads?

Hi there. Currently my car has the original screw in, side entry distributor cap with the leads that have the metal ends on the spark plugs (open ended) and a radio fitted. At the moment the radio crackles only when the engine is on. I tried the plastic ended top entry cap and plastic ended spark le...

Engine help needed after rebuild!

Good sunny afternoon! We have been having some troubles after rebuilding our 1098. Dad has checked all he thinks but it still wont start. On turning the handle, it feels really stiff and grippy. On turning of the key, it barely turns over despite battery being OK. It seems a problem that we cannot f...

Will this roof rack fit?

Hellloo. I am desperately looking for a roof rack of some sort, I have found a few at big prices and some that are snapped up quick! Just a query, would these modern style ones fit (see below)? The trouble is the saloons have a domed roof so is harder to measure. Please advise of any that would fit,...

Where abouts are these valves. Do I have to remove the nuts that face into the engine bay on the base of the dampers?

Anti Roll Bar - Justifiable?

Hi. I'm sure as some of you will notice, I do like trying out certain mods on my car however want most to be removable to get the car back to originality without much doing. As I use my car on twisty country roads daily, I would like to try out an anti roll bar as these look easier to fit that tele ...

Weber carbs - how much should I pay?

HI, as the title says... A colleague of mine has offered me a Weber carb that fits straight onto the A-Series. He said I could have it, fit it and give him a sensible offer if it works ok.
Could anyone tell me how much I should offer him?
Many thanks,
Stephen
