Fuel Gauge fails when lights on

Hi there, has anyone experienced a problem with the Fuel Gauge when the lights are turned on? The Gauge registers fine in the daylight but as soon as I turn the lights on it registers empty/doesn't register. I have been told it will be a bad earth - but where? Will it be the earth on the sender (unl...

Thanks everyone. I think I have it sorted now. It appeared to be the rubber bushes and after slackening off, raising and retightening with spray grease applied the problem appears to have gone away. Nice silent run now.
:D
Once again - thanks to all.

Thanks for that. Er no, 'fraid I did not. I assumeyou mean the bushes at either end of the spring? If I put the car back on the axle stands, loosen off everything, including the U bolts, lower then re-tighten that should sort that issue? Then I will address the other solutions if still a problem

Squeaking rear springs/suspension

The near-side is fine but the o/side squeaks and groans as I go over bumps in the road. I have tightened up the U bolts as far as I think I should go but the problem on that s...

Bleeding Minor Brakes

I am about to put my 1959 Minor 948cc back on the road after complete strip/restoration. I have renewed all the brake lines, master cylinder and shoes etc. and have tried bleeding once. I had my mate sat in the car watching the fluid level in the M/Cylinder and operating the foot brake pedal whilst ...

Thanks. The tool came without any instruction/tips on how to use it but I guess it is just used to lever up the rubberlip on each side and feed the strip in inch by inch? I will take your advice and leave it to the next sunny day - starting after its been parked in the sun a couple of hours.

MORRIS MINOR WINDSCREEN INSTALLATION - CHROME TRIM

Hi there. I am a new member who has only joined today. I have been labouring hard for the last 12 months with a complete bare shell refurbishment of a 1959 2-door MM Saloon which is now close to MOT status. I have refitted the windscreen but am having the devil's own job figuring out how the plastic...
