Re: BT van rebuild

A bit of History on the van....you may or may not know. Westdene Nurserys - Elmbridge Road Cranleigh Surrey GU6 8UJ - no longer there was built on a few years ago - now Westdene Meadows. They specialised in Chrysanthemums and later became a small 'garden centre'. Family owned business _ owner was a ...

Re: Paint Suppliers

Try these guys. They have just mixed me a brilliant match to a Landrover colour from a scrap of panel about 2" square. It took about three weeks but the match is perfect.

Thanks for the wisdom! I saw that damage to the nut and it never dawned on me! In fact I was muttering that it was going to make getting a socket on it more difficult.
Thanks again

Steering wheel nut

Sorry need to undo the steering wheel nut to get the indicator switch out (short somewhere) ! Conflicting sizes mentioned in various places - 3/4 Whitworth or 33 mm - as I have to buy the deep socket I would like to get it right......maybe they are so close either will do!

Thanks

Flasher unit failure

I lost all indicators on the Traveller (1970) checked the supply to the flasher unit and had good supply. Nothing out of the flasher unit. I replaced the unit - old one had B P and L on the end new one had X P and L I made the following bold assumption : P = P = Stalk warning light (lt Green wire) B...

Interesting! As predicted a change to a new 'stat housing helped correct the problem and then I noticed that the rad seemed to be mounted a bit on the low side. You wouldn't be able to insert a starting handle. It seemed to be an error of about an inch. I found that on the near side of the car there...

Bullets, spades, etc

The traveller loom needs a tidy up and sort out to remove previous owner's 'choc block' repairs. I dislike the red, blue, yellow crimps of today's vintage. Does anyone know of a supplier of said parts either rubber covered or at least in black PVC? (I see that ESM have some pictured but seems no spa...

Right this calls for a closer look over the weekend! Have I been sold a pup?? I have fitted a new 'stat cover and it seems a better fit for the hose although I still feel it could do with about another half inch of length. Any way of moving the Rad to the right? As to the engine type.....does the nu...

Hose Issues

Just purchased myself a Traveller. On the way home it developed a top hose leak. I have a new hose from ESM but it's nothing like the right size!. I think the engine is not the original for the car so my thoughts are that the thermostat housing is the wrong type for the rad. anyone any thougths? (ca...

I've recently been giving this some thought and was wondering if the timber sections could be placed in a sealed tube ( I know this needs some engineering work) and pressurised with 'the fluid' (what ever it should be). I was tempted to 'soak' some sections of Ash in a bath at normal pressure and in...
