How can I tell if a diff is a 3.9 ratio.
I've discoverd a diff that may be a 3.9 ratio? However I'm unsure and before a possible purchase I'd like to check. All I can se on the crown wheel is MOWOG BTA 1224 10-39. I'm sure there's someone out there that can tell me what to look for or, possiby the number of teeth? Unable to get to the pini...

Thank you Cam for your pics and comments. However, it should be noted the MMOC had a stand that was nearly twice the size of the Morris LCV Register hence the more space for vehicles. The people on the LCV stand also gave their time FOC. They also let people look at the vehicles, open the bonnets et...

Thanks for all you comments, very helpful but I'm still undecided. As it is, I already have a 3.7 diff. Paid £75 for it some time ago. I also already have a ford 5 speed that I accquired some time ago for £10 including the yoke and, before you say it probably needs reconditioning, it doesn't, I drov...

What about the final drive between the 4 and 5 speed? I thought they would be different in order to reduce revs? Getting hold of the propshaft for both an bell housing etc in OK. I've already located these parts but, I'm unsure about fitting the Toyota box and what's need to fit it? I feel getting t...

Which 5 Speed Gearbox to fit...?
I'm in the proces of collecting all sorts of items for the restoration of a Austin Pick-Up which will receive an MG 1275 engine and a suitable 5 Speed gearbox along with a suitable diff. (3.7 or 3.9) The choice seems to be between 2 makes of which there are pro and cons for both. 1) Ford type 9 gear...

Good to see all of you last night along with Andy and Eric from Northampton and Ray's mate Kevin who recently drove all the way, none stop from Scotland in a M.M./Austin Pick-Up. 13 hours later he arrived in Leamington. (He's only just managing to straighten his legs again). Welcome to Phil, new mem...
