Did mine last week. Screens popped out easily in about 10 mins. Replacement took hours of trial and error :o . Definitely recommend a helper. Final attempt only took about 20 mins of frantic bashing and lots of swearing.

Oh, and it still leaks

Every trip is an adventure. As said previously, go for a later one with the bigger engine that'll keep up with modern traffic. Mine's got the 803cc engine and early gearbox and I get overtaken by elderly folk in 30mph zones! The same elderly folk I would normally blast past in my BMW. :D But if you'...

The rubber parts do isolate the metal parts. They have M8 threaded sections (nuts I suppose) at each end. I used M8 threaded rod and locknuts to get my adjustment. It passed the time anyway.

MoggyTech said As you will be aware, pro resprays are expensive I spent £2500 on a respray for my 1966 VW camper and I don't intend spending the same on our morris. For a start, there's less to paint! Thanks for the tips on DIY paint jobs. I'm feeling pretty confident it can be done. I've done a lit...

respray in gloucester

As you can see from my sig pic, my Morris is crying out for a respray. I've taken it to couple of places in town but no one seems keen to quote me. Can anyone recommended a spray shop around Gloucester? I'm not looking for a show winner and I'm willing to strip and rebuild the car myself. I'm tempte...

Thanks for all the tips guys. Plenty to keep me occupied for a while. :D

Curious to see how much my engine moved when pulling away, I did a little video here

It's quite surprising. Definitely going to get a steady or I might have a go at making one. Shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks for the replies. The gearbox steady cable is broken so I'll change that first. I'm not sure I have an engine steady. Where would it be? I've repaired the clutch pedal linkages as they were badly worn. I'll check the other things when the wife gets back from work. I'm a little reluctant to cha...

Digital Clutch

We've been driving our minor for a month now (since flying through it's first MOT for ten years!) and we really love it. :D The only little niggle is the clutch. It's very digital ie ON or OFF. I'm finding it very hard to make a smooth take off. Reversing is even worse. It feels like the axle is goi...
