JW - make sure the security cable on your gearbox is a) present and b) correct! In a hard stop the engine can otherwise lunge forward and the fan will make mince of your rad. Having just swapped my moggy's 1098 engine and gearbox for the Mg Midget 1275 engine and gearbox, I'm now finding the speedo isn't working. Is the 1098 speedo cable different from the 1275 ?
