Re: wreck of the year on Ebay
yes he's saying transferable reg number ,maybe but needs an MOT to do so,so worthless, buyer beware,Going to send him a message see what he does.Nothing probably  It's MOT exempt, so could in theory be taxed as is but the chances are when it came to removing the reg, DVLA would demand an inspe...

Re: Seat belt bracket
Ignoring the fact that they'll bend, they seem to be attached by 2 M6 bolts. That, combined with the bendy design, surely can't be safe.

Re: Red Stripe sticker for side of Morris
An easy way to do it is to get some twin coach lining tape from halfords or similar, stick it on, paint between the stripes then peel it off and you should be left with a perfect stripe.

Re: Car rollers.
Just a thought and apologies if it's been covered before, but how about doing a spit type thing through the hole in the bulkhead and just making a frame for it to pass through in the boot area. that was the route i was going to take with mine as that way it keeps the suspension free and isnt putting...

If you meant have i got any pics then no as the wheels are a long way down the list at the moment. However I did offer an 18 & 17 upto it and the 17 was just about right.

Re: satin, matt, or gloss black
I voted gloss but it was a toss up between that and satin, I guess it depends on what overall style you're going for. As a side note are you doing the prep and paint yourself, if yes it's worth bearing in mind that it's easier to get a good finish from gloss as you can polish inperfections out. With...

Re: Has the Custom Register Died????
I find this thread quite interesting as over the past 23 years Ive been a member on 3 occasions, each time not renewing my membership for some of the reasons highlighted in this thread. Initially I got the feeling that as a 17 year old, some of the members felt I had no place in 'their' club, especi...

Re: V5C shows PLG
PLG was the old classification (pre historic, LGV, Private etc) and covered all cars and light commercials. If a car hasnt been on the road since whenever historic road tax came into place then it will still show PLG

Re: front suspension
I can see external ones being ok but if the internal kits involve cutting a section of inner wing away then you're definately into IVA tests, Q plate and no free vehicle tax etc. I had this exact conversation with VOSA about 3 years ago, pre IVA but the same rules still applied, you cant turret the ...

Re: front suspension
So where exactly do the turrets go as this potentially would be a better option. Id assumed you had to cut the rear inner wings and have the shock top mounts inside the boot?

Re: front suspension
Surely by turreting the rear you're into needing an IVA, same as anything which involves cutting away at the bodyshell ie K series conversions etc?

Re: front suspension
I was looking at one of the bolt on kits for mine, out of interest how badly engineered are they? I had one on a Minor a few years ago and is was fine without any obvious issues
