try setting the points and if you got a strobe light check timing.if no strobe try moving dizzy a bit either way see if engine increase's its revs bit of a job to set dead on with no strobe..glyn

Never in my yars did I see a chain on the clutch could be someone did away with the rod and used a chain and strong return spring regards glyn

my daughter lived in Birkekara for 2 years she moved last weekend to a new house ai've not had here full add yet.my wife and I go out 4 times a year we are going Dec 30th but thought it would be a change to drive down next July.We have planed our route and we are taking a mounth off...looking foward...

Thanks for replies do u meet up time to time,Cardiff is about 60 miles from where I live,I did find 1 from Malta no1145 i've e mailed him to see if they have a meet when I drive down nest July,when i learn how to put pics here i'll post some,need my son in law or grandson to show me regards glyn..ps...

got a few of them knocking about thermostat cover with a blank plug..capilary type is the better and most reliable gauge,if you can fint a midget one you'll have the oil preasure gauge built in quite handy...glyn

Just wandering is there anyone living in this area on the forum,?seem to be a bit isolated down here 8 mile drive and i'm in the sea.I only see the odd minor driving about here,also are there any members in Malta...regards glyn

you can fit a grease nipple to the moving part of the pedal shaft by drilling and tapping to suit grase nipple it does help when you get it going.you can also pump in light oil regards glyn

check that the pedal is'nt sized on the shaft going through from the clutch,does the clutch pedal move when you press the brake? otherwise check if spring is'nt broken as per previous post regards glyn

There is no decibel set for the mot in the vosa hand book,it say the car tested must sound like any other car of the same make ie as production car..the tester has the say so if it don't sound like another moggie it can fail it at the discresion of the tester to judge this we usualy have a conflab b...

1098 big bearing engine is based on the 1098 original block,1275 had not been developed when they bought them out first,I got a 64 healy sprite this has 10cc engine in and i dont think the cooper s had 1275 at the time...I may be wring here regards glyn

no not like oilite bush .we never used to grind groove off only takke perhaps half of one thou,but people who could not get thiker ones used to make thier own up and have seen grovless ones,not good

these washers were very hard and did have groves i'll check my other manuals we used to surface grind them useing a magnetic table if they were to tight ,end float was not to be more than .003
