Morris Mis-Firing

Morris Mis-Firing I set off for Chichester today in the Morris 1000 Convertible (Iris) when just west of Arundel the car began to mis-fire and then conked out. The vehicle would not start again. I thought that maybe in the traffic we had overheated. The AA came to help me out, and the car did actual...

'Iris' Morris Minor Convertible - Engine 'Missing'

Hi all. Hope it is all going well. I have been driving Iris around this sunny weekend. She was fine for the first half an hour, but once she had warmed up the engine began to 'miss' continuously. We still made progress and could accelerate away, but stuttering all the way. Could this be the sparks p...

I have removed the starter motor, and yes indeed the cog mechanism half way down the shaft was sticky and mucky. I have cleaned this all up thoroughly. How does this mechanism work...

Starter Motor Running but No Action

Hope someone can help! The battery is fully charged. I pull the starter pull, and the starter motor turns, but does not turn the engine. I can see the small nut at the end of the starter motor turning, but nothing else happens. The fuel pump also does not appear to be turning, clicking as usual. Doe...
