Daddsie, I've used a cavity wax-oil product (in spray can form) produced by Comma. It is much thinner than Fennigans Waxoyl, and flows into the nooks and crannies.

I also us it to protect the chrome work over winter. I don't think I'd go back to Fennigans after using it.
