Re: Why did my sealed beam blow?
Thanks for this, definitely not a 6v. Thanks for eliminating convertible issue! No sign of seal failure, I'd no obvious cracks etc!

Why did my sealed beam blow?
Hi, can anybody advise:- convertible needed new sealed beam for its mot. Sent for one off eBay and connected it up. Illuminated on main beam for maybe 2-3 seconds then extinguished. Tried it on dipped and same occurrence. Do I conclude that I've 'blown' the unit? If so why/ how? Can't see anything o...

Where are these seats from please?
Although these came to me in a Morris Minor, I'm really keen for any ideas as to their original setting. All thoughts appreciated![frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1423435379_6008 [/frame][frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1423435432_6008 [/frame][frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.p...

Re: Electronic ignition
If you have a 25D dizzy - then you need kit4! But why not just treat the car (and yourself) to a complete new 45D dizzy - then it is drop-in, no fuss no bother, new vacuum advance new cap/leads -all new - and your old dizzy goes in the boot as a 'known good' spare. Some folks run into problems fitt...

Re: Electronic ignition
One last question please! This is the response I received from the Accupark email interface. Which one please, kit 4 or 5? " Ouir 45D kit would be correct as long as your distributor is the Lucas 45D type, from the application menu on our website this is kit 5. If your distributor is the earlie...

Re: Electronic ignition
Just been looking on eBay and get confused by the plethora of Accuspark offers from 'Sportsman' through ' Stelth' to things a deal cheaper. Would appreciate if someone might provide a link to most appropriate purchase for a 1098 MM
Thanks again in anticipation.

Electronic ignition
I am sure this post may be regarded as laziness but having taken a cursory look, haven't immediately hit the relevant thread. Am I sensible in considering an electronic ignition kit for my minor? Just suspect it might be easier for me to maintain electrics on song with one. Any advice on which syste...

Re: Morris minor saloon OWC 91
Thanks Ian for these encouraging comments. Louise went to great efforts on my behalf with Chelmsford Records Office, only to discover a recording error. Either the Council or supplying Garage have made a 1 digit mistake in recording chassis number, so unfortunately no proof positive yet. however I a...

Re: Morris minor saloon OWC 91
No Louise, I was being lazy with the 60s dating. I'll confirm chassis number and then make a more reliable estimate of date of manufacture. Thanks again for your constructive assistance. If Chelmsford records hold a chassis number, could this be enough to satisfy the DVLA and allow number retention?...

Re: Morris minor saloon OWC 91
Wow Lousie Thanks very much for your research to date! Do you think the records office will have anything to help validate the number to the car? If so I would love to peruse this further but hesitate to put you to this trouble.
Thanks Andrew

Re: Morris minor saloon OWC 91
Thanks Louise, I've already had good advice from Rob. He tells me that if I'm to keep the original registration I'll need to provide some evidence in support. Hence my request for anyone who might have some knowledge of the car's history to get in touch. A vain hope possibly!

Re: Morris minor saloon OWC 91
It is unknown to them, ie not on their data base and I've not got any associative paperwork, eg old log book, tax discs or insurance docs!

Morris minor saloon OWC 91
I have recently restored this '60 2 door saloon which was offered generously on the free to members messaging board. I attach before and after images for info. I am posting in the faint hope that someone may know of this vehicle in its earlier life and possibly have some valid evidence of identity w...

Re: What have I done wrong?
Well all I can say is what a twirp I've been! Should have realised the significance of the plastic washery-thing on the points connection- what a dunderhead I am. You were all right with your helpful suggestions - the wife's '60 convertible is now running a treat- all set for atrip to soak up the su...

Re: What have I done wrong?
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. Still can't get it to go! Did try Richard's suggestion and DID'NT get a spark from the coil lead. Does this suggest that coil has failed or is it still more likely to be my bumbling servicing skills!

Re: What have I done wrong?
Thanks Charlie
Rotor in place, leads not changed but pushed on firmly. Points set HT < leads all seem to be OK! Could it be the coil? I've removed single plug but no visual spart on cranking!
