I use mine everyday for work, dual carriageway maybe the same one you use (A13). Mine is an unmodified 948cc, it does in excess of 13,000 miles a year no problem. As long as you keep it well maintained it will not let you down. Mick good to hear , hopefully soon the A13 will have a couple of minors...

everyday use

thanks all As i said i already have one minor in the garage undergoing some work , so i have a good idea of what minor ownership is about but i only tend to use it at weekends . My daily commute to work is 25 miles each way on dual carriageway . Cant wait to sell the beetle and get myself a travelle...

thanks for your support and advice .
we have a mondeo also so i could use the minor on the nicer days and the mondeo on the not so nice and leave it at home for my wife to take the kids to schooll

EVERYDAY USE

hi all just wanted to get an idea how much everybody uses their minor . i have a 4 door in the garage that needs some work to get roadworthy but i am thinking of replacing my wifes new beetle with a traveller to use everyday to work and general use . Seems like a great idea , room for the dog and go...

returned to the garage tonight with the same wiring plan i realised i had failed to connect a wire up :oops:

now connected and all working ok .

the alternator is a lucas 17acr with 2 large terminals and 1 small , i have tried earthing the small terminal out to see if the light comes on but nothing so possibly could be bulb . is the bulb part of the charging circuit . i took the car out for a spin sunday afternoon and dosent seem to drain th...

checked the wiring re soldered the connection so i guess it must be a dodgy alternator .
if not any other ideas .
