Re: Brakes and Hubs Nightmare
Thanks guys, Believe me, I share your sentiments regarding quality of parts etc but I have to say that the supplier which I have used for other parts over the last year has been excellent. The sleeves are still on the legs. When I said 'adjusting' the bearings, I meant that I fitted them, they seeme...

Re: Brakes and Hubs Nightmare
Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure that these are standard marina hubs and haven't been machined. The discs are rubbing on their inner flat face e.g not on the ends and I've realised that if you look under the car one disc looks much closer to the backplate than the other. I'm guessing that this ...

Brakes and Hubs Nightmare
Dear All, I have spent some considerable time (and no small amount of cash !!) fitting a second hand marina Disc Brake Conversion to the mighty Mog(adapted to take Minor wheels). I have changed the hub bearings, calipers, discs and pads and all seemed well until I test drove the car and there is now...

Ducellier Distributor
I have a Ducellier Distributor fitted to the Ital 1300cc in my mighty Mog. I have an old Marina/Ital Manual but it doesn't have any details on this type of distributor. I basically have 2 questions that I would appreciate some help with. 1. Does anyone know what the points gap should be? 2. Can I ch...

Marina Disc Conversion hub bearings driving me nuts !!
Still trying to fit a second hand Marina Disc conversion to my beloved 4 door. Have fitted new hub bearings, seals, calipers etc but I just can't get the right tension on the hub bearings; they're is just too much play when I rock the hub which is even worse of course when I fit the wheel. I have tr...

Binding front disc brakes
Hi, Just completed fitting a set of second hand Marina discs with new pads, shims etc to the mighty Mog and now they are binding. Following previous advice from this excellent forum, I removed the top hat seal from the master cylinder. It may be just that the calipers have not been used for a while a...

Master Cylinder Mods
I've almost finished installing a second hand marina Disc Brake Coversion (without the instructions!!) and seem to remember that you need to remove a rubber part from the original Master Cylinder to stop the brakes binding. I have a workshop manual with an exploded diagram of the Master Cylinder but...

I did take the pin out then threaded the trunnion on as far as the recess in the leg then put the pin back through. If I take the pin out and thread it up any further, the pin won't go back in as the threads obstruct it. Are you saying that if I thread the trunnion up as far as it will go then the p...

Trunnion Troubles
Apologies of this is the dumbest MM question ever but I seem to have a snag with my trunnions (ooh er missus!!). I've just started fitting a second hand Marina Disc coversion which is modified for Minor hubs and came attached to some front suspension legs. I used the existing top and bottom trunnion...

Original versus pattern front wings
My apologies if this has been covered before but I'm pretty new to the forum so all advice gratefully received. Just about to purchase 2 new front wings for the mighty 4 door and wondered what the difference is between the original and pattern wings (apart from the price of course!!). Most of the su...

Choke cable for HS4
Finally fixed my carb problem so thanks to all those who provided advice. The cup full of fuel did the trick and seemed to coax it into life. Car now starts and runs pretty well. More power to the messageboard experts I say.
