I've always found the brakes on my Morris worked excellently. Stopped my car and myself plowing into a small car full of teenagers who decided pulling out infront of me suddenly was a smart thing to do. Certainly did squeal alot as the tyres all locked. Though I did spend £100 on last brake maintena...

Hmm... Easiest way to see if it would work would be to check if the engine spins in the correct direction. If the fan that's already on there spins clockwise as you look at the engine then that fan you have will pull air through the radiator (if the label "to engine" is fitted so it's faci...

No if you look at the curvature of the blades it only works one way. Turning it round will make it alot more inefficient and if it's spring mounted it might set itself to the maximum pitch position regardless of engine speed. It would only work turning it around if you could reverse the direction th...

Like the 1958 price list for a moggy thousand stating they cost £625 and 7 shillings for 1000 2 door saloon (the cheapest of the morris 1000 range). Double tha...

Their old Factory still exisits in Olney, Bucks but is now a block of flats. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/288591 Wow! I find all this kind of thing quite fascinating. Theirs a windmill where I live now an empty tower but I've seen pictures of it in it's heyday with sails and a metal "HOVIS...

Indeed. I only picked up the book on wednesday from an Antique shop and have been leafing through it ever since. Even has an advert on the back for "Lodge" spark plugs. I've never even heard of that brand! But the best is still that advert I think, with it implying a moggy has an expensive...

Yes that would help if I posted an image wouldn't it? I'll see what I can do I don't want to damage the book (The Motor Electrical Manual) I got it out of however.

Tada! Hopefully it's still readable.
Image
Morris Minor in (old) Advertising!

Just saw this today and didn't know if anyone else has seen it. There's a moggy (albeit the rear of it) in an advertisement for "PHILIPS MotoRadio" it says "1955! You'll remember it as the year motoring became much more enjoyable: the year PHILIPS MotoRadio came back - better than eve...
