i have more or less got this set up with a sw5 camshaft it goes very well its not a racer but you do have good tourque for overtaking lorries i tend to cruise at 55/ 60 its happy at that speed

just been looking at this thread can anyone give me a rough idea on what bhp my engine might produce its 1098 block with 1275 head hif 38 carb ramair air filter mainflow manifold and exhaust many thanks dale .

rolling road go to south mini and metro center in southam i have used them for rolling road and part engine rebuild they are very very good

im glad you are up and running again bga do a composite gasket which might last longer you can order them from bennetts in st albans , ive had a copper payern failafter 3000 miles unfortunatly the quality of the parts is not good thease days

decent quality clutches
not that i need one, but looking at the all the parts suppliers they all seem to have borg and beak which is now a chinease copy and the springs in them are rubbish ,does anyone know where we can get hold of a decent clutch kit

have you tryed having someone move the steering from side to side as you put the grease in , the car had to be jacked up just off the ground you need to use axel stands to be safe

i have got the maniflow exhaust on a 1098 with hif 38 carb and a 1275 head it works very well and sounds lovley , more upgrades to follow performance camshaft and lightened flywheel .

hello steve you live in gods own county, i plan to retire there hopefully in 5 years , filey for me . we had our camping trip there last year mot/uk i think there were about 50 moggys last year

thats a lovley car i would not worry about using a strobe light for the timing just set upa fast idle and rotate the distributer till it idles smoothly. then back it off a small amount . go for a drive up a hill if it pinks back off a bit more , if it doesnt leave it alone . thats as good as it will...

i did mine with a £50 aldi compressor i put the tin in a bucket of hot water to thin it down . when i worked on a farm we used waxoil on the plough moldboards when the season was done , fantastic stuff the boards were like mirrors did not rust at all

you can get a running in oil from millers and penright , comma oils do a decent 20/50
