Re: Some advice please

If it was me, I would put an offer in for the traveller, but I am not a convertible fan, and although the saloon looks good, I just think the traveller is the better choice. You will gain friends that you never knew you had with that car! However, it needs someone local, who really know the weakness...

Don't be daft, Steve!
With the scant information in the advert, I just took a risk that came off. It is now in the best place, where hopefully the club can eventually get it roadworthy, and preserve it for the future.

Re: Classic Car insurance Companies? Any recommendations?

If it's a second car then you should be able to get a fully comp classic policy very cheaply, usually well under £100, and that comes with breakdown cover included, try RH Specialist, that's who I'm with for all my vehicles. My traveller is my main car and they do a very good deal on it. I would se...

Re: please can any one tell me if this car is still alive

The registration number lives on. It's on a GREY VOLKSWAGEN GOLF MATCH FSI 115 according to the Congestion charge lists. The actual car may still exist, but with a replacement registration number carried.

Re: GDL 452D and LEN 122

Hi Carrie, You're probably right in thinking LEN 122 is long gone. The car doesn't show on the DVLA site, and the registration number is not shown as current on any vehicle, on the London congestion charging site. Only hope is that it has been slumbering away somewhere in a barn and will turn up one...

Re: Car & Engine Number find

I have an 803cc 4 door, factory built on 6th/7th October 1953. Chassis number is FAA11/220158, with original engine number 43308, if that is any help in dating the car. The engine number looks approx a couple of years later than mine, given annual production at that time. Thanks John Most likely er...

Re: Lost Morris Minor 1000 Index 728UMM

March/April 1959 issued.
Doesn't look too hopeful, as reg number not shown as being on any other vehicle either on the congestion charge system.
Car could be stored in a garage or barn, or reg number is held on retention so does not show on DVLA vehicle records.

Re: Is there a Stewart and Ardern archive?

When DVLA was first set up, in the late 70's early 80's, many vehicle make/model mistakes were made in these early days when they had the mammoth task of transferring all vehicle details from old buff/green log books on to the computer. Other people on this site have commented on such mistakes. It m...

Re: Amen - Last minor saloon off Cowley line 12/11/70

Very exciting,John! Good news! I have now found the ideal home for this unique car 'Amen', which, to me, is the best possible solution to secure its future. I had a couple of offers of finance from very kind minor enthusiasts, and the possible supply of suitable parts, which were really appreciated...

Re: Last minor saloon off Cowley line 12/11/70

Currently on http://www.carandclassic.co.uk item C760307, primarily to find someone who can finance or rebuild this to the original OE standards and specification. I could only put this in the 'For Sale' section to attract the necessary attention, so that's why it shows 'For Sale' in the title. Eve...
