Re: 1958 Two door saloon restoration in Sweden
I painted most of it in August so the temperature was good, the last few parts was painted inside (hood, trunk lid and some smaller parts), now it is a bit cold for painting outside. My basement is ok temperature all year around and with a little heat in there and a dehumidifier it works great. I di...

Trunk lid hinges
Hi! So I bought new hinges for the trunk lid, no problems but a weird question, the casting has RH and LH in them, but there is no way the LH hinge fits on the left side, it only works on the right side, checked the ESM description and they are also "wrong", so I consider LH being the left...

Re: Car Cover
One of those party tents are pretty good if you have the space (not the very cheap ones though, the good ones have at least 40mm diameter pipes), I used one for 3 years to keep a car inside here in south of Sweden and it worked well, we get a few feet of snow each winter and it survived that without...

Re: Minor 1000
Sorry for the off topic question, but does anyone know the name of that yellow color on the rims ? I have the same and I like the color so need the name in case I need to repaint them, I thought it might be "pale primrose", but not sure.

Re: 1958 Two door saloon restoration in Sweden
Well, it is getting there, it is now Honolulu blue, all is painted, now I "just" have to put everything back together, most rubber will be new, new bumpers, new chrome parts (hinges and so on). I did get a few runs in the paint of course, so I have to wait a few days before I take care of ...

Door lock trim ?
Hi! Should there be some kind of trim around the door lock on a Minor ? my lock is sitting about 1.5-2mm behind the door outer skin so there is a gap between the lock and the sheet metal, is there supposed to be something around the door lock to make it look nicer or is that just the way it is ? loc...

Re: Rear seat armrest question
Ok, thanks, I thought it might have been some clips as it does look a little ugly with the screw heads visible, but if that is they way it should be it's ok

Re: 1958 Two door saloon restoration in Sweden
Floor is looking good, there are some repairs, but they are well done, no rust and no holes, there was some water at the rear seat foot area and it started to get some surface rust there, but not too late to stop it. Just red rust protection paint there now, so there is room for improvement there. f...

Rear seat armrest question
Hi!
Anyone know the correct way to fasten the vinyl armrest panels in the rear seat (1958 Saloon, 2 door) ?
Mine was attached with sheet metal screws, you can see the screwheads so I assume this is not the correct way, should these be attached with clips like the door cards ?

Ok, that is possible, I guess nothing that belongs there then, I thought it might be something that was supposed to be there as it does look very old and scratched

Re: Weight of the rear axle case?
It should be less than 40kg/90 pounds and you should be ok, but not sure if that is complete with drums and all, I think you need to ship it palleted

What is this ?
So I got this (see picture) with my Morris (1958), it was loose in the glove compartment, it has double sided tape on one side so I assume it goes on the circular area on the inside left side of the glove compartment door. It is a small "box", it will open, I thought it might be a makeup m...

Re: 1958 Two door saloon restoration in Sweden
I got new bumpers, hinges for trunk and hood, missing chrome parts otherwise and some new rubber parts including piping for rear wings, so I will remove hood and trunk lid also to paint them separate as I want paint under the hinges. The paint is in good condition so I will leave it there and just s...

Re: 1958 Two door saloon restoration in Sweden
I removed both rear wings to check for rust and I also want to replace the piping so I might as well paint them separate. And I removed the front right wing because of rust, I will not remove the left front wing I think, it looks like it is in good condition. IMG_20260806_144824710.jpg I have not fo...
