Re: Identify spec's on re-ground camshafts (?)
Wouldn’t using the dial indicator be more direct? Also doesn’t the diameter of the lifter result effectively in earlier opening and later closing , longer duration? Or is the cam spec a measurement of only the actual profile not the movement of the lifter?

Re: Living outside
Ian, Do you plan to drive the Morris during the winter? Do you get snow and are the roads salted in Lincolnshire? If the car won’t be moved I would suggest getting it up off the ground both to save the tires from flat spots and to increase air circulation under the car especially if you do cover it....

Re: Vacuum guage
What is your procedure for fine tuning the timing with a vacuum gauge? More advance equals higher revs and high vacuum? The keyway in my crankshaft pulley is damaged and I don’t have absolute confidence that the timing mark is accurate. Because of the angle I don’t think probing thru the spark plug ...

A small time window that predates the Elva by more than twenty years. So if a real number it was recycled?

Rear pickup window trim
Does anyone have any experience, tips, suggestions about trimming out the rear cab of a pickup? I’ve been thinking of covering the rear panel with one inch foam and covering that with vinyl. I’m looking for something to trim out the rear window. The PO had covered everything with a sheet of pasteboa...

Re: Recent maintenance
The need to feed my addiction for Minor news finally overwhelmed the dire warnings to go back. I don’t know if the site will remember me or not or when or if the warning and blocking will end. I hope the warning is baseless and Im not inviting hackers into my phone.
Happy motoring.

Re: Citric acid results
Thanks once more St.Stephen saviour of the ignorant and uninformed. The flush was running clear but pulling that plug did release some particulates, including some flakes of green and yellow paint. The yellow probably overspray from my painting the water pump. Pulling the plug was a little dicey as ...

Re: Citric acid results
I’m in the process of flushing out the citric acid. What is draining out is mor greenish than brown. Could be the initial drain and flush with water didn’t remove all of the antifreeze or maybe the green crystals I scraped out were not confined to the water pump and were released by the acid. Where ...

Re: Citric acid results
The treatment appears to have opened up a small leak. Can’t tell exactly where. It's at the front under the head overhang. Could be the top of the pump, pump to head connector hose (most likely) or the head gasket ( less likely). I’ll probably only warm it up again once more tomorrow then flush and ...

Re: Number plate lookup
Thanks Stephen,
The screens and mirrors suggest it’s a track car but the lack of a roll over bar would rule that out at least over here. I assume such safety features are required over there as well?

Number plate lookup
Some of you have been able to find information about a particular car from the number plate. Is there a public access site for this that a rebel from this side could use? Our Elva registrar is trying to identify this Courier, ELV 803. The number looks suspiciously custom. Are vanity plates a thing o...

Re: Citric acid results
I drained the radiator Sunday night before the temperature dropped below freezing. I filled the system today with the acid solution. It took about four US quarts. Unrelated I had a devil of a time starting the engine to circulate the acid. The battery was low having sat for a couple weeks. I put the...

Also looks like the first traveler has a chrome or stainless sill threshold. Over here we have paper back puzzle booklets that have two identical looking photos where the puzzle is to find the differences. My wife likes them, I find it’s time better spent on other pastimes like cursing at a Morris M...
