Thanks both! I’m awaiting Retronics call back or email but yes I’m
Thankful it hasn’t damaged the unit and once again the MMOC experts have come to the rescue!

Re: Retronics Hazard Light Switch Puzzle

Fixed! The Retronics instructions in the box were incorrect and terminals 5&6 not 7&8 were needed to supply the flashers independent of the stalk. I rewired the unit to provide power to T8 and hey presto everything is just fine. Phew! Thanks for all your comments and queries ans thankfully t...

Re: Retronics Hazard Light Switch Puzzle

Hi, Negative earth. I’ve taken the output from 7&8 into the double bullet connector for the lights which has the two red and green wires in one and the two white and green wires in another in the dash behind the drivers glovebox. Each also has the feed from the indicator stalk in each so in effe...

Retronics Hazard Light Switch Puzzle

Ive begun installing the Retronics switch in my 1969 Morris Minor. I do use the major roads in France so a hazard upgrade seemed sensible. The hazards work perfectly when the switch is pulled but when the hazard switch is off and I indicate left or right all 4 indicators flash and for the love of al...

Re: 1969 Indicator Stalk not flashing

Afternoon, all resolved. I cut back and soldered a small wire on for the indicator stalk fix. The steering wheel/horn is the banjo type and the brass fixing on the retaining cap had broken (age) so again it’s been re soldered and fixed. Everything working so thanks for your help! Cheers Richard

Re: 1969 Indicator Stalk not flashing

Thanks! I thought I was going mad! I’ll strip and solder a new piece in tomorrow and make the join. Many thanks! The horn push contact came off too when the steering wheel was off so that needs a solder too!

1969 Indicator Stalk not flashing

Evening all, indicators on the car work so the car stalk is correctly setting left and right but the stalk bulb doesn’t flash. Having opened up Pandora’s box I see a broken wire (green) which goes up the inside of the stalk but where does this connect in the stalk fittings? Clearly (and if it were t...

Suspension Height

Afternoon all, Having brought my 1969 convertible over to France I’ve had to pass the French MOT (CT) in order to complete one of the tasks for registration here. The car passed a UK MOT with no advisories on 3/6/26 and passed here too but the suspension height was noted as different for the front o...

Smiths 3 Way gauge wiring (oil, water & ammeter)

Afternoon all, I know gauges can be contentious but I’d like to add a water temp, oil pressure and ammeter to my 1969 1098 -Earth, Dynamo installed Convertible. The car lives in France and summer temps are +40C so the water temperature is to tell me the cars not cooking before it cooks. I’ve managed...
