Re: " Best" Upgrade
If you are going to use the car in the winter, then electrically heated front and rear screens. Good demisting = improved visibility = improved safety. My Minors have always been kept outside, so on a frosty morning, plenty of scraping. With heated screen, go out, start engine, switch on screen. By ...

Re: " Best" Upgrade
Many have replaced all of the bulbs. I didn’t go quite that far but did everything except the headlights. Duncan at www.classiccarleds.co.uk was a great help. I’ve used their leds in the Morris, MG Midget, Land Rover 90 and Volvo V70. Fantastic customer service! For the hazard lights we have a Luca...

Re: " Best" Upgrade
That’s an interesting point of view but if you want reliability, leave it as standard. Regarding safety, well if the car is being upgraded performance wise, bigger brakes etc should be a thought. All these mods are down to preference really, however if you go too far, not much point driving a Minor...

" Best" Upgrade
Sort of following on from my previous Thread .... can you tell me what the Best Upgrade you have done to your Minor that has made it so more reliable and safer to use that my still original 1970 saloon would not be fitted with .....I have seen that there are quite a few like electronic ignition , al...

Re: What was the best thing you got to help you with your Moggy !
Good luck with you Minor :tu1: It's only an opinion but don't get too wrapped up in originality rather than usability. Unless of course showing it is your main aim, rather than the fun of driving it. [ totally understand , not driven one before but see the "upgrades " that are available ,...

Re: What was the best thing you got to help you with your Moggy !
I don’t think the items mentioned apply solely to the Minor, more to the everyday mechanic. In fact I can’t think of any specific tool unique to the Minor, ———(is there?). Considering the OPs past, I would say he would have all the tools he needs,—— well maybe some imperial spanners. [ You are corr...

Re: What was the best thing you got !
The actual BL/Morris Minor Workshop Manual; it always surprises me, particularly on Farcebook, how many people attempt doing significant jobs, even such as working on their brakes, without having a clue about the topic, because they don't have the Workshop Manual. You can buy bound, hard copy new r...

Re: What was the best thing you got !
The extending bonnet prop that enables the bonnet to be opened to near vertical. Improves lighting of jobs a great deal and prevents hitting your head on the bonnet. I fitted this a few months ago after 36 years of hitting my head. Should have done it years ago..... Stephen Definitely will have one...
