It costs nothing to look. Do the cheep checks first. Depending what system you have, it varies over the years. I've finally found where that wispy smoke is coming from. Its coming from out the end of this pipe on the nearside front of the engine. Whats this a symptom of?

I've done the bending arm thing but still poor. I'm surprised after all these years on one has made a better blade/rubber profile that's still in keeping with the period look.

[/quote] Yes the fan should blow the smoke backwards but it is not unknown for the wrong fan to bit fitted that blows the wrong way! (Such as from a Mini). I wouldn't expect to see it at the radiator grille but the most likely candidate for smoke in the engine bay is the manifold to exhaust joint. Look for sooty marks there. Also inspect manifold to cylinder head gasket area and the manifold itself which can crack. Other much less likely causes, a ser...
