Disc on the front Drum on the back. Operate the pedal fast like an emergency stop and the pedal stops solid like a brick wall I opened up my master cylinder and this is the sum of parts that came out. (Not exactly as per the official workshop manual) IS THIS AS IT SHOULD BE ? COULD THIS BE THE CAUSE...

Blanking off the heater tap should Include two short 1/2" shouldered bolts (or similar) to block the heater hoses if the tap or one/two heater hoses fail.
Sounds like a must have piece of kit< Do you have photo's of these
