Re: Sorry-indicators
That’s excellent news, I really didn’t understand the purpose of the relay box so I will wire it as a simple 3 pin flasher unit system. I have changed the front lights using the later amber/clear to avoid confusing other drivers. The rear has been done prior to my ownership. I will post a picture of...

Re: Sorry-indicators
It does have the 8 wire box that the workshop manual refers to as a relay. I haven’t modified it, I suspect the previous owner has. It also has a 3 wire flasher unit. However, the workshop manual does have exactly this configuration on one of the wiring diagrams. Thanks for the help though, it confi...

The workshop manual refers to it as a relay. The silver box bolted to the inner wing.

Sorry-indicators
Recently bought a 63 saloon with loads of little bits to do. The indicator stalk was broken and the car had white front lenses. The old flasher unit was swinging in the breeze. I have put the new stalk and l front light units on. I also screwed the flasher unit to the bodywork. Now I get a clunk fro...

Re: Starting issues
I wired it wrong, I put the orange and black on top of the insulator on the points. I think the coil was shot anyway, there was oil oozing out of the top. She tried starting with the old coil but now runs sweetly with the new one.
I really must remember to do these jobs with my readers on

Re: Starting issues
Thanks Steven,
I will probably grab a spare coil but the Lucas sports coil is in and she’s purring like a kitten!
Thanks for all of the help.

Re: Starting issues
Olonas, I think you might be onto something.
I put the black and orange wires under the nut, not under the insulator onto the spring!!!
I will let you know what happens
.
Many thanks.

Re: Starting issues
Thanks Bill. I wouldn’t put it past me, I was pretty tired by the end
. The rotor arm was on and even tried the old one just in case.

Hi, Mitsy was misfiring a little when we picked her up so I did a service and changed capacitor, points, distributor cap, leads and plugs. Set the gaps and gave her a go. Now she won’t start. She cranks happily but have done the usual checks and there is no spark at the plugs or distributor. The coi...

Re: Original seat belts
Finally figured out why I was having trouble. They are seized up and upon closer inspection the stitching crumbled away. I’ve changed them for a colour co-ordinated new set. Thanks for the help.

Original seat belts
Hi
.
Newbie post but I can’t find a thread so I’m asking.
I have a fairly original 63 saloon with the Kangol seatbelts fitted. They are very stiff and I can’t figure out how they should work. Can anyone advise please?
