Postage to n.i is a disaster. Also some confusion as to how much the diff holds , any idea , it’s a late model .

Yea I know what you mean but I only removed rad to take engine out , engine is ready so maybe your right with engine in gear box be easier to balance on a jack.

Is it easier to drop gear box cross bar with engine in
Putting new mounts on gear box 1098 have all bolts loose
I had engine out and ready to go in would it be easier to steady the gear box when cross member is dropped if I put engine back in first. Or is there an advantage to doing them while engine out.

Plus it’s fun and even a laugh now and then. ( except for the times your below it fixing it now and then but hey at least they are workable unlike the newer cars. ) And to be honest as long as it’s not too expensive I love working on it. Spend a lifetime working on big diesels and mostly modern Germ...

Is newer Speedo seal just rubber no metal.
See photo. old one out metal and new one black rubber. Ps surclip pliers with pressure on turning as you pull I found was easiest way to get metal one out if that helps anyone.

Other strange thing on changing linkage on the hooked threaded bar going to clutch arm there was a nut on front and one rear of arm ie I thought both nuts would been to rear with second one a locker. Also the spring was missing. I am right I hope both nuts go behind and new spring I am fitting takes...

Can the we plate with 4 suds just at back of gearbox just above driveshaft connecting, can I drop this plate off and reseal as might be we tear of oil. Sorry 2 photos still learning.

I assume you are talking about the brackets but the actual rubber mounts are same

No pipe had been broke off so I replaced the whole thing.
Op had an old rubber pipe running straight from distributor to carb.
