Thanks I thought I was going in the wrong direction and you hve confirmed Im not crazy - Im going to dig out the old SU fuel pump now I think I may have solved the elec problem and if no joy then buy a new SU pump. Thanks for your help/support/pointing out the bleeding obvious - much appreciated.
