Re: " Best" Upgrade
I have fitted a high level brake light, mounted on the rear parcel shelf, as I believe it helps to warn the idiot tailgaters that are around today. I am also going to wire in a hazard warning unit. There have been differing opinions in regard to the fitting of LED lights so I am not intending to cha...

Re: indignity of being Towed
Good luck with the electronic ignition, I have had differing experiences with various makes on another model of car. Note; some electronic ignitions need a modification to the base plate of the distributor. I would have tended to stay with points and condenser from the Distributor Doctor or another ...

Re: Serious gearbox oil leak
Correct! I had to use a small hack saw and chisel to cut into the side of the seal casing to release it carefully away from the box. It was very tight and access was not easy. Always thinking not to damage the aluminium gear box.

Re: Serious gearbox oil leak
I had an oil leak with the rear oil seal on the gearbox of my car and decided to replace it 'in situ' lying on my back with the car up on axle stands. Getting the old seal and housing off was interesting, although it is just a push fit onto the gearbox housing it was very tight, it took quite an eff...

Re: RUST TREATMENT
I have been using Hydrate 80 for a good number of years and found recently that the results were not as good as previous with evidence of rust returning. I will see what results I get with Jenolite.

RUST TREATMENT
I have used in the past Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 which I have found to be fairly good for rust treatment prior to painting. I read recently that Jenolite has been highly recommended. Has anyone had any experience with this product please?

Re: Steel shed Winter storage
I am not sure, it may be worth speaking with the paint suppliers technical department. I have had a shipping container previously for car storage that was not treated with condensation paint which constantly dripped water in the winter months. I tried using 50mm styrene sheet insulation but it was a...

Re: Steel shed Winter storage
I store my Morris 1000 in a steel shipping container which has had the inner roof spray painted with an anti condensation coating and to date I have not had a problem with any dripping water. It is on one of the Dainton Storage sites and the coating had been applied before I rented the container. Th...

Saftek Brake Shoes
Hi, Has anyone had any experience in fitting Saftek brake shoes please? I note from their web site they say that their shoes give better braking performance. I was considering upgrading with discs brakes but if Saftek gives a reasonable improvement I will consider that as an option.
