Thanks Phil,
That explains everything now.

Front wing to front panel rubber seal
I have fitted new metal wings to my 1959 2 door and I have obtained the rubber seal that fits between the wing and the front panel. Each seal is about 10 inches long a moulded channel on either side but I can't for the life of me work out where it fits. If anyone could post instructions, or better s...

2 door 1959 door check straps
I have replaced the 'A' posts and now wish to refit the door check straps. Could someone please send me the precise measurement of the attachment of the strap to the post. I am happy with the height of the strap because the door dictates this but unsure exactly where it should be fixed onto the pill...

Repairing SU H2 carb
I have a 1959 2 door saloon running on a single standard SU carb. When changing the fuel line from pump to carb I pulled the copper inlet neck out of the float chamber lid. It pushes in again fairly tightly but I am concerned about fuel leakage. I am not at the stage of rebuild when the carb can be ...

Trafficator baffle plate
Could someone please explain what the purpose of the Trafficator baffle plate is? I have re-installed trafficators on my 1959 2 door saloon and have fabricated the 2 baffle plates which mount inside the B post on the Trafficator fixing screws but what are they for?

Re: What paint colour is this please?
Thanks for all your helpful comments everybody. It has confirmed for me that it is not an original colour and I now have to decide which 1959 colour to go for. I'm leaning towards Clipper Blue if I can't find any darker blue colour from that period.

What paint colour is this please?
IMG_4398.JPG Any ideas please as to what shade blue this is? It’s a 1959 2 door registered in August that year with newer rear lights fitted. I think the colour is original and is behind panels and dashboard etc with no evidence of a re-spray. All the MMOC records show the only blue used at that ti...

Re: Trafficator mounting plates
Well done for that suggestion. I had not thought of 'Minor Matters' but found exactly what I was looking for with my first telephone call. That will be my first port of call in future.

Trafficator mounting plates
I am re-establishing the trafficators on my 1959 2 door. I have managed to acquire the units themselves and have them repaired and operating effectively but I am in need of the brakets that attach the trafficators to the inside of the B post. They will be mild steel and bent in such a way as to keep...
