Many thanks, have now sorted it.
Used a 3 legged puller, penetrating fluid (50/50 acetone and transmission fluid, heat gun, and a few sharp taps and off it came.
Bearing is held in housing with a spring clip.
New bearing on order, hope it goes back together a little easier

How to remove dynamo front bearing
I am detailing my engine and ancillaries. I have taken my dynamo apart and front bearing needs replacing. However I can’t get front plate (which holds the bearing) off the shaft. Have tried a sharp blow to the shaft but am worried that I will damage the end plate with too much force. Any thoughts on...

Gold Seal Rocker Cover Paint
Does anyone know the correct colour spec for a gold seal engine rocker cover? I am going to be detailing my engine over the next few months and want to try and use the correct colour rather than any old gold spray.
Thanks
Paul
Thanks

CMO 450J
Bit of a long shot but I recently purchased a Morris Minor 2 door saloon, registration CMO 450J. Unfortunately there was no history with the car so just wondering if any previous owners might still be members and can shed some light on its history. I know if was 1st registered in Berkshire in April ...

Engine number identication
Hi I have a 1971 morris minor 1000. I think it has had a gold build replacement engine and I am trying to confirm this. The rocker cover is gold and in the engine plate the following is stamped:- 8GI 62 E P5256 and just below is DH. I tried looking at some of the internet web sites but it’s not clea...

Rear brake shoe fault notification
Have recently attempted to change rear brake shoes on my ‘71 saloon. I could not get enough adjustment on the new shoes. After refitting several times and double checking I could still not get enough adjustment. I finally put the old shoes back on and they adjusted fine. Tried the new shoes one last...

Re: Rear brake adjustment...conundrum!
Just had same problem. Fitted new rear shoes but could not get enough adjustment. After much head scratching I compared old shoes with new shoes and found that new shoes were smaller than old shoes by a few mm. Contacted the supplier (ESM) and they confirmed that they had identified a bad batch and ...

Rear brake new shoes adjustment issue
Have just fitted new brake shoes and drums on my ‘71 moggie and could not adjust them enough even when the cam was on its maximum setting. After much head scratching and several dismantals and rebuilds and disconnecting the hand brake could still not adjust the brakes sufficiently. Just to humour my...

Re: Morris Minor, Swindon, Wiltshire
Panky, thanks for the Pics. I intend to take the wing off in the near future, get the inner wing back down to metal to confirm how good/bad it is and then decide if it is a replacement panel or a patch job. 1st job on my list thiugb is to stop the water leaks inside the car to prevent rusting of the...

Morris Minor, Swindon, Wiltshire
Hi, after many years I have plucked up the courage and purchased a lovely 1971 2 door Morris Minor. Its not perfect but seems solid and should be a great little ‘runaround’. From an initial inspection it looks as if some repairs have been done to the front inner wheel arches and the bump stops are m...
