Thanks everyone for your comments, which is much appreciated, and has also given me some confidence to persevere a bit longer with the engine as is.
Hopefully , the weather will now improve to allow me to concentrate on some bodywork repair instead.
Thanks again.

Re: 1962 948cc MM - Compression Test
Hi Phil, Thanks, and unfortunately, I have nothing to compare the power output with, as I have only had my MM for just over 18 months now, hence my only experience is that when I go up hill, I am having to use lower gears, and the trail of cars behind me. However, I do like your inclination to run t...

Hi Everyone, I have a 1962 948cc MM which starts and idles very well and does not belch any smoke from the exhaust. However, the power starts to diminish fast when going up a hill, and hence I just carried out a compression test (after the engine was warned up) and I have had the following results: ...

Re: Door Alignment
Hi Simmitc, Thanks for your input, and as you indicate the top and wing edge is within allowable alignment, and I am now suspecting that you could be right in suggesting an incorrect sill alignment, as one of the jobs I was planning was to repair the inner bottom door plate, which has holes appearin...

Door Alignment
Happy New Year to you all. As part of my plans to tidy up the bodywork of my MM, my driver’s door has a kink at the bottom (see picture) which sticks out circa 1” (25mm) and just before I go mad in trying to straighten it, does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause and the best way to rectify ...

Re: Self Cancelling Indicator Trigger
Hi, Yes I have checked a few time, and have re-checked again just now with a fresh head on, and the Green cable from the “P” terminal on the flasher unit is still constantly live, once the ignition switch is on. Therefore, I am beginning to think that the problem is in the wiring up to the flasher u...

Self Cancelling Indicator Trigger
Hi All,
I have a new indicator stalk on order, and hence I am planning to remove the steering wheel etc, but in advance of dismantling I’d like to check with you as to what is the correct position for the self cancelling indicator trigger / bolt as mine is positioned as per photo.
Thanks.

Rear Boot Repair
Hi, My rear boot lid lip has previously been repaired with filler which is now falling away. Therefore do you think if I cleaned off the filler and sort (Mig) welded a strip of metal to the edge, this would give me a firm base to re-fill and make good? Or is this a case where a boot repair kit would...

Shock Absorbers
Hi, My moggy appears to be a little bit bouncy when going over a rough bit of road, and I am thinking that the Shock Absorbers my be on the way out, and hence can I buy a kit or the parts to refurb the shocks myself, or do I need to send them off to a specialist to carry out the refurbishment? Thanks.
