Re: Naming your Minor
I've never been one for naming my cars though I must admit to calling them some unsavoury names on occasions when they wouldn't start or on the umpteenth time I skinned my knuckles working on them. When I bought my traveller though, it had such personality that even I was driven to name it and Monty...

Re: yoghurt pot heater mod
That's a good idea, might do similar on mine though I'd prefer to route the heater intake hose to the top of the radiator where it is warmer than the bottom.

Re: Morris on the radio waves
I always fancied getting into ham radio until i found out that a morse code exam was required :-( Morse code isn't part of the exam any more, not even for the advanced licence. Find a local amateur radio club and pop in, ask about getting licenced. The foundation licence is very easy and the interm...

Not many really good pictures of them, need to take more, but here's the two of them together and one where I've just fitted an MG seat into my wife's

Don't have a '54 but also in South Wales. Worth checking out the South Wales Branch of MMOC, we meet in Pontyclun each month.
My wife and I each have travellers, a '66 and a '67

Afraid insurance for younger drivers is horribly expensive whether for modern cars or classics. Footman James quote looks good and they are who I have my insurance with, my wife managed to get a slightly cheaper quote elsewhere but hardly anything in it and she had a lot more hoops to jump through ...

Traveller rear door handle screw
Does anyone know what size screw goes in the end of the shaft for the traveller rear door handle?
My rear lock is only held on with the 2 exterior screws so could be removed without needing a key, I'd like to fit the correct screw to secure it from the inside.

Re: HS2 Carb part ID
If the threads on the studs holding the tap in place are ok, why not just leave them as they are. It is not an imperative that the studs have to be removed when overhauling the head. My sentiments too, if the stud isn't damaged I'd leave it in place and clean up the gasket around it. If the stud do...

Re: HS2 Carb part ID
I hope that you have better luck at removing the heater tap stud than I had. Even heated to cherry red it would not budge. I might have to drill out the 1/4" stud and replace with a 5/16" stud. :-? Rather than go up a size for the stud, have you thought about helicoil? I had the opposite p...

Re: Adding ethanol to petrol.
Oil companies claim they are "helping the environment" by giving you 90% of the petrol that you paid for & topping up the last 10% with ethanol, but still charging you full price, akin to a pub landlord adding 10% water to his beer, claiming its to "help" alcoholics? https:/...
Re: Sunvisors
Thanks for the input folks, shall tackle my sunvisors in the next week or two and let you know how it goes.
Re: Sunvisors
That sounds like an useful way to fix them. I'd been wondering about buying an old sunvisor and taking it apart to see how it was put together before tackling my own but slicing it along the top should do the job nicely :) Martin I repaired mine A bit fiddly but definitely doable We had some plastic...
Sunvisors
Just bought a '67 traveller and find the sunvisors feel like they have disintegrated inside. Is this normal or could they do with repairing/replacing?
New sunvisors seem very expensive for what they are, any advice, tips or tricks?
Thanks,
Martin
