Thanks for your help - the indicators are now working again.

Once the switch was repaired I had to replace the flasher and everything was fine. Presumably the fault on the switch damaged the flasher before blowing the fuse.

There was definitely a problem with the brass piece that makes the contacts - it was not seated correctly in the plastic holder. I have fixed that and checking it out with a meter it seems ok - I get a circuit between the green/brown and green/red & green/white wires when I move the indicator st...

Thanks for the replies. Touching the wires caused the fuse to blow. I wired in an old indicator switch assembly I still have and by touching the wires I could get the left and right indicators and warning lamps to light. I don't want to fit this one because it is for a mini and the spring mechanism ...

Indicators just packed up

I noticed the left turn wasn't working - if I pushed the stalk it would work. Then it stopped working altogether. The right one was working ok. When I was messing with the indicator stalk the right one stopped working too. I took the assembly apart and the spring that holds the small brass bit again...

Thanks for all the suggestions. It turns out it was just out of fuel! :oops:

I think the noise put me off - I assumed it was a sign of much worse.

Starting Problems

Went to sart my Traveller today and when I turned the key to the first stop there was a loud grinding/whirring noise - at first I thought it was the blower on the heater but that was off. I turned the key to start the engine and it started first time but then cut out. The noise didn't stop. It can't...
