Basically there is only just enough room to get a finger between the bolt head and the bulkhead/steering rack with the engine in normal orientation, when I tried dropping the back of the gearbox, in an attempt to see if I could gain access that way, I found the bolt completely...

Thanks Steve. Someone else I know mentioned a Toyota auto conversion but had forgotten where they had seen it, and like you said, finding one these days will be the problem.

For a variety of reasons I may have to sell my 1275 engined Traveller, unless I can convert it to an automatic. Has anyone any experience of this, is it even possible? Any help and advice gratefully received.
