I took your advice Phil and bought the guides with the grooves and got them put in to the head already, top hat seals ready to fit.

I don't think 3-star fuel is the same as E10 is it?

The old star rating would have contained lead for a start. I'm not sure whether they also contained ethanol back then though.

I think it's valve seats that you change for unleaded fuel, not the valves themselves. Perhaps a replacement exchange head would be the best idea? I think ESM do them, not cheap though.

I got tempted by the low price of the alu rads as well and bought one almost as soon as I bought the car.

It'll be a long time before I get around to fitting it so I can't really help you. I would be interested to know whether they are any good though.

When I had this problem on my old Galaxy, it was the wire that was the problem, not the sensors. Visual inspection once bumper is removed and then a simple continuity test to confirm. Saves spending money on sensors if not needed although checking the pins for corrosion is also worth doing.

Thanks for the comment guys. I used a 13/16th socket to loosen the caps which weren't on that tight. I was considering to put them in the ultrasonic cleaner and buy a service kit to recommission one of them to start with and buy new caps as Phil suggested. I've managed to get myself a couple of Lockheed brake m/cs on the cheap but the filler nuts look weird on both of them. Do they all look like this?
