Re: Interior courtesy light: 1967 Traveller

Thanks for the photo. That's the same as in my '57 MM. The switch on mine has three positions. Tom M. In fairness, mine feels like it has three positions, but none of them are 'off'! I was told by the chap who is going to be doing some engine work on the Traveller, that there is no 'off' position, ...

Re: Interior courtesy light: 1967 Traveller

Scrooge - could you post a photo of the internals of your interior light? We could tell from that if you have a later MM fixture, or perhaps something different. Thanks. Tom M. Hi Tom, thanks for the reply. These are the photos I’ve just taken of the interior light. I think it’s correct for a 67? 9...

Re: Interior courtesy light: 1967 Traveller

Thanks for the replies. I’ll try to get a photo of the light internals tomorrow after work. It’s being collected late afternoon for a bit of engine TLC, but with luck I can get the light apart before it goes. Thank you :) For the plastic fatigue issue, I could just buy the £20 3D printed replacement...

Interior courtesy light: 1967 Traveller

Having recently acquired my lovely Morris Traveller, I'm looking to sort out a few small jobs - and one of them is the interior light. It's the later style, with an inbuilt switch, rather than the lever that sticks out. Like the photo below lmp146-extra-large.jpg Firstly, the plastic has fatigued so...

Re: Newbie member: first Morris incoming in 2 weeks!

Thanks everyone :) Henry has been for a trip into work today (with the excuse that I needed to get him out and photographed for the insurance value) but as he is leaking a bit of oil, and burning it too, he won't be doing much more until he's been looked at and hopefully fixed - whatever that may en...

Re: UK Badges/Stickers

Ah ha, I think I know the type you are looking for. I've got a GB one for my VW campervan, and a few months ago I bought a UK one to replace it, just in case. I'm pretty sure it was on ebay... give me a mo I'll have a look back through my purchase history..... Here you go. I got the type that has th...

Re: Newbie member: first Morris incoming in 2 weeks!

So a little update... Friday saw me catching various connecting trains from Salisbury, and making my way down into Cornwall, and then the following day (yesterday) embarking on the homeward journey in Henry. I can't lie - it was the most nerve wracking drive of my life! I felt like a learner driver ...

Re: Newbie member: first Morris incoming in 2 weeks!

Thanks for the welcome and kind words! I've been out car booting today in an effort to clear garage space for Henry when he arrives home on the 23rd... I fear he may have to live outside for a short while whilst I change from an 'up n over' garage door to a hinged style, and until there is enough sp...

Newbie member: first Morris incoming in 2 weeks!

Hello! Well, in two weeks time I should hopefully be driving my first Morris home. I'll make formal introductions when Henry has negotiated the 190 miles from Cornwall to the New Forest, but for the time being he's a 1967 Traveller - and 30+ years ago, he was my first car! Back in the early 80s, whe...
