That answers the problem Phil,
I noticed when I pushed the pedals by hand ,both moved at the same time,I freed them up but Unfortunately the damage to the bearing had taken place when using the brake like riding the clutch .before I freed the pedals.

I thought my shoes were pshing both pedals when braking,turns out the shaft is corroded.

The release bearing has worn out on my minor 1968 model.I had noticed a metal cllnking and put it down to a loose bit of metal on the exhaust. My question is,could the wear be caused by seized relay shaft bushes preventing the brake and clutch to work independently. So when you are braking ,the clut...

Thank you for those replies,I only bought the car recently,the engine bay had evidence of rusty water that had sprayed everywhere.One of the core plugs was leaking,the one by the dipstick. I will take it for a longer run now that it is working as it should.I have back flushed the old rusty water out...

Is it normal in this very cold weather for the heater to start warm and then go cold after about 3 miles and then warm up again.I have a 88c thermostat fitted.
No loss of water,I presume it is due to the thermostat opening and allowing the cold water to circulate.
