That will be the issue, the nuts are knackered! I have already had a go with a wire brush....

Re: Disc Brake Conversion Which one?>

Personally I would go with the Marina based kit every time. Cheap to buy and cheap replacement parts if required. Big Red is a good source of parts especially stainless steel calliper pistons. Parts will be around for some time yet. I have Marina disc brakes on my Minor and they do what it says on ...

Re: Grumpys Rollover Jig

I did the same job on my Minor 1000 fairly recently. I certainly didn't consider a rollover jig or removing the engine both of which would have taken many more hours. I had to remove the engine mounting of course and supported the engine in situ. The car was jacked up high enough to gain decent acc...

Re: Grumpys Rollover Jig

Fistly I think you might end up replacing most of the front section of the chassis leg, they are double skinned and rot from the inside out, what you can see is probably only the tip of the iceberg. Given the engine is very close to and mounts on the chassis leg I would take it out first, with engi...

Re: Wont stay running. CARB SET UP !!!

Just ideas these before I get flamed for speculating. Is the fuel stale? This modern fuel seems to only last a couple of months. Is the fuel pump working properly? Easy to check by removing the fuel hose from carb and directing to a container then turning on ignition. You don’t mention any work on ...

Re: Front Supsension NOVICE advice needed

Whilst agreeing in principle, most owners probably started knowing very little about the mechanics of their Minors, but with time and guidance have (or can) become perfectly proficient in maintaining their cars. If direct supervision is not available, then the ideal would be to do the work and then...
